problems with keyboard and mouse

Post by Sues on 13th May 2009, 12:31 am

I've been having problems with my computer. Specifically at times the keyboard will work and at times it will not. Also during that time when I clicked on a drop down box (such as favorites) it would frequently disappear before I could make my selection. When it would disappear "file" on the toolbar would highlight. I thought it was my keyboard and mouse so I bought a new one, but mistakenly unplugged it before installing the software. After I plugged it back in to install the software neither would work, although the keyboard would work in bios. I turned the computer on and off and monkeyed around for quite a while and then all of a sudden both are working. I've installed the software but haven't plugged in the new keyboard and mouse.

When I run ad aware, Malware bytes and AVG, it says I have no infections. I don't know what to think.

I'm afraid to plug in the new keyboard and mouse because I'm wondering if there is something I'm not picking up on. AVG did say that some files contained macros (?) and some files were locked. I don't recall that many locked files before.

Here is the hijack log.

Hello.
Sorry I missed this post, you posted when the forum wasn't working correctly, and it wasn't allowing me to post my answer.

This sounds more like drivers/hardware fault rather than malware. I will ask Doc to drop by.
