Hijack This Log

Post by glynn09 on Sun May 03, 2009 10:09 pm

Hi all

As far as I'm aware my computer is malware free. I have recently run scans through a avira antivir personal, a squared free, spy bot search & destroy, malwarebytes anti malware, SUPERantispyware, and windows defender with no problems identified. I am also using comodo firewall, sandboxie, and programs are up to date via filehippo update client. However, when i recently ran hijack this and put the log through hijackthis.de website, O20 - AppInit_DLLs: came back as a nasty. Basically, I'm clueless here, but does any one know whether this is a malware problem?

Not really a nasty, just an empty leftover registry item.

  • Now open a new notepad file.
  • Input this into the notepad file:

    Windows Registry Editor Version 5.00

    [HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\Software\Microsoft\Windows NT\CurrentVersion\Windows]
    "AppInit_DLLs"=-
    "AppInit_DLLs"=""

  • Save this as fix.reg, save it to your desktop.
  • Double click fix.reg to run it.
  • Select yes to the registry merge prompt.
