I still remember a few year back when i was just saying, why need quad core when not all games support multi core rendering. But the truth of modern games trying to take advantage by allow users to use every CPU, GPU you have. Parallel processing is very common nowadays and quadcore's additional 2 cores were now given a huge advantage as compared to dual cores. Quad core is i supposed to be a better choice.

That powersupply isnt rubbish at all, its is considered top tier in the market, just that it isnt modular. There are even more PSU that dosnt attain the 80+% efficiency, also have cosair and seasonic product lousy powersupply. Some people have a misconception that a modular is better than a non-modular PSU, just that non-modular can get messy if you dont have proper wire management.

Solved Re: Loss of External Harddrive

Post by InsanityVonMike on Thu Apr 30, 2009 2:56 pm

I'll quote the guy from ecuhq...

Single CPU Socket and a regular desktop motherboard
Makes Total: 40 Watt

Adding AMD Phenom II X4 920
Makes Total: 170 Watt

Adding 2 x DDR2 Ramsticks
Makes Total: 180 Watt

Adding your Graphic card ( Sapphire Radeon HD 4850 ) ( Single GFX Card, Not even including your Crossfire Idea )
Makes Total: 280 Watt

Adding 1 S-ATA HDD 7200 RPM
Makes Total: 310 Watt

Adding your DVD Drive
Makes Total: 340 Watt

Adding soundcard and nic
Makes Total: 350 Watt

Adding 2x PCI-e x16
Makes Total: 480 Watt

Adding USB + Firewire
Makes Total: 500 Watt

Adding Fans running full performance
Makes Total: 520 Watt

Adding Capacitor Aging ( A Power Supply will slowly lose some of its initial wattage capacity over a period, So I've added some extra 30% percentage to extend your computer life time by a year. You don't want hardware components to fail at working properly because the power supply cant supply enough power after while [couple months]. )

Makes total: 680 Watt

So i was close.. 680-700. This time i did the realm math Wink

The computer will work fine the first few months.. But after a while it wont run at full performance anymore because the PSU will lose some of its initial wattage capacity while that PSU is giving full potential energy from day 1 Razz

Now, what do you think about this monitor? Samsung 23" LCD Syncmaster 2333SW I have a similar atm but it's not really mine so I need a new screen...

Why do u tink that ATI recommend 550W or above PSU for crossfire? His clueless and just adding wattage like this, making no sense. These high efficiency PSU capacitor will not age so quickly with it made in japan which is high quality. With thats guy's maths, No human would think that cosair would add 2x6pin PCIE power to their PSU if it cant even handle a single hd4850. I once had a ICUTE 450W PSU(A PSU that may explode anytime) several years old running my HD4850 without any problem.

If you have no issues with samsung, go for it Smile

Which one do you prefer? http://www.komplett.se/k/search.aspx?q=cpu&bn=10547&mfr= (of course it needs to fit with the packet)

Also, no softwares are included so I wonder what's your opinion about OS and AV Smile

Well windows 7 has only been released in beta stage... kinda hard to get the key too... i'm kinda curious about eset so I would go for that but it's not many swedish stores that sells it..

this may sound stupid but what's the actual difference between an antivirus software and internet security?

Internet security provides multiple security solutions like Firewall, Antispyware, Antivirus, Anti Phishing etc.

An antivirus, simply protects you from viruses and online threats.

You think it's necessary to have both or is antivirus enough?

It's enough as long as you have 1 antivirus, 1 firewall, 1 antispyware. Do not have more than one of those if not they will cause conflict and problems to your system. As for the Windows 7 Keys, wait till 5th May, MS is releasing the RC.

I heard that you needed vista to install windows 7 at the moment... is vista really that bad?

U dont need to download vista to use windows 7, u can torrent it now because Microsoft removed the download from its website.

Norton 360 - internet security
Norton Antivirus 2009 - Anti-Virus

Why use norton if there are much better software out there?

When the time expires, how much will it cost to upgrade nod32?

EDIT: Please answer my previous question about harddrives too Smile
And did you mean to download the OS through piracy? Isn't that kinda risky (not to get caught but the risk that it won't work proper)

Its not illegal to torrent windows, it illegal to use illegal keys.

Western Digital Caviar® Black™ 500GB
eSata 3 Gb/s, 32MB Cache, 7200RPM is better(higher cache) but notice it uses Esata which is for external HD uses.

Windows 7 key is here http://technet.microsoft.com/en-us/windows/dd353205.aspx

ESATA is SATA which is used connected to outside of your case through an ESATA port, external uses.
