backdoor.tidserv

Post by xxlindzxx on Sun Apr 05, 2009 2:46 am

I got the backdoor.tidserv on my computer probably on April 1 or the day before that. I didn't realize this until today when my Norton detected it, quarantined it and deleted it. Now my computer has all searches from google redirected to random websites and I can't go onto any anti-virus websites or download any updates through the programs. I have done an ad-aware scan and deleted some programs, which may have been a mistake because I know that your rules are to not fix anything myself.. but I panicked.. Thank you so much for helping me out ahead of time!! I don't want to lose everything but I will be out to buy a external harddrive tomorrow to back up everything if it isn't too late. What else should I do to protect myself other than changing passwords.. since I'm on a laptop is my desktop at risk because they are hooked up to the same router?

Hello.

Please disable Ad-Watch, as it may hinder the removal of some HijackThis entries. You can re-enable it after your computer is clean. Please see here for instructions on how to disable it:
[You must be registered and logged in to see this link.]

  • Open HijackThis
  • Choose "Do a system scan only"
  • Check the boxes in front of these lines:

R1 - HKCU\Software\Microsoft\Internet Explorer\Main,Search Bar = [You must be registered and logged in to see this link.]
    O2 - BHO: (no name) - {4D25F921-B9FE-4682-BF72-8AB8210D6D75} - C:\Program Files\MyWaySA\SrchAsDe\1.bin\deSrcAs.dll (file missing)
    O17 - HKLM\System\CCS\Services\Tcpip\..\{6E2070F9-DFA9-4D77-937A-CC02DFCEABF2}: NameServer = 85.255.112.112,85.255.112.212
    O17 - HKLM\System\CCS\Services\Tcpip\..\{DD5C82CF-1347-4A45-BDFE-4563356234E2}: NameServer = 85.255.112.112,85.255.112.212
    O17 - HKLM\System\CS1\Services\Tcpip\Parameters: NameServer = 85.255.112.112,85.255.112.212
    O17 - HKLM\System\CS2\Services\Tcpip\Parameters: NameServer = 85.255.112.112,85.255.112.212
    O17 - HKLM\System\CCS\Services\Tcpip\Parameters: NameServer = 85.255.112.112,85.255.112.212
    O23 - Service: Viewpoint Manager Service - Viewpoint Corporation - C:\Program Files\Viewpoint\Common\ViewpointService.exe

  • Press "Fix Checked"
  • Close Hijack This.

Please download and run this tool.

Download Malwarebytes' Anti-Malware from [You must be registered and logged in to see this link.]

Double Click mbam-setup.exe to install the application.

  • Make sure a checkmark is placed next to Update Malwarebytes' Anti-Malware and Launch Malwarebytes' Anti-Malware, then click Finish.
  • If an update is found, it will download and install the latest version.
  • Once the program has loaded, select "Perform Quick Scan", then click Scan.
  • The scan may take some time to finish,so please be patient.
  • When the scan is complete, click OK, then Show Results to view the results.
  • Make sure that everything is checked, and click Remove Selected.
  • When disinfection is completed, a log will open in Notepad and you may be prompted to Restart. (See Note)
  • The log is automatically saved by MBAM and can be viewed by clicking the Logs tab in MBAM.
Note:
If MBAM encounters a file that is difficult to remove, you will be presented with 1 of 2 prompts.
Click OK to either and let MBAM proceed with the disinfection process.
If asked to restart the computer, please do so immediately.

Post the contents of the MBAM Log.

hi I appreciate you trying to help.. I got really frustrated with it because I couldn't download malwarebytes and I couldn't open my C drive it kept saying It couldn't find something called Recyclers..? so I ended up reformatting my computer. It was the easiest thing for me to do. Thanks again for trying! you guys are really great at responding in a timely fashion.
