Solved Emailing directly from MYOB

Hi, hope I'm posting this in the right place?

Can someone help me please......Whilst using MYOB, I have an option to send reports via email.
Problem is I cannot even get the email field to appear. Hubby has the same MYOB package backed up on his laptop and he can do it no problems. We did need to download Eudora as Myob doesn't recognise windows mail as it is without MAPI.

Done all that, to both laptops. I just cannot understand why I cannot even get the email window to open. Before downloading Eudora hubby at least got a window with an error telling him he needed to check his MAPI settings. Mine never even did that, it just does not respond.

Hi Mason,
This may take a bit of time, because I have never used this program before.

Lets start off by seeing if it is MYOB, or your email client that is the problem.
To do so, I would like to ask you to try an alternate email client. Please download Thunderbird from the following adress: http://www.mozilla.com/en-US/thunderbird/

After you have downloaded Thunderbird, be sure to set it as your default email client.
1. Go to Tools >> Options
2. Under General tab, please find the "System Defaults" group, and click "Check Now"

After you have done that, please close thunderbird, and try your other program again.

Thanks Jerry, it's Mason's hubby here now. I have done as you suggested, but we still have the same problem. On MYOB wherever we can click email nothing happens, but if we click website, it goes straight to that person's site. I don't get it, I'm assuming it's to do with MYOB, but I have search the package upside down and can find anything. My hands are thrown in the air now. Cheers, Mark.

Hi Mark,
Well, I am sorry that the above solution didnt work out for you, but all is not lost.

First, I guess I should cover the basics.
Have you tried reinstalling the software?
What does this program do?

Please understand, I have never used the program that you are having trouble with before. Learning about it will help me troubleshoot your problem for you.

Hi Jerry,
I am a little cautious about reinstalling MYOB at this point in time as this is our companies accounting package and I need to send all info to our accountant over the next week for the past financial year. I will have to do a back up to a memory stick and simply attach it to an email rather than emailing direct from the MYOB package which is what I should be able to do. Are you suggesting to uninstall and then reinstall, or to just reinstall over the top of the existing package?

Hi Mark,
Before we begin fixing this problem, is it possible for you to back up all info in the software incase somthing happens?

If the answer is yes, then please do so and follow all instructions below.
1. Try to reinstall without uninstalling the current package. If this fixes your problem, then you can safly ignore the next steps. If not, then please go to step 2.
2. If step 1 did not work, then please uninstall the existing package, and reinstall the software. If this works, then you may skip step 3. If not, then please move on.
3. If the above solutions didnt work, then please post back here letting me know.

REMEMBER TO BACK UP ALL IMPORTANT INFORMATION BEFORE YOU DO THE STEPS. IF THIS IS NOT POSSIBLE, PLEASE POST BACK HERE BEFORE YOU CONTNUE.


Also, remember to post back here conferming if the above solutions have worked.

I haven't tried this as yet, we want to get all our financials completed and sent off and backed up first before we reinstalling or uninstalling anything at this stage. I will get back to you as soon as we have done this.
