Solved Re: Help with trojan.brisv.a!nf Please

Post by Belahzur on Thu Feb 19, 2009 4:27 pm

I see that you are running Limewire.
P2P(Peer to peer) applications are designed to help you easily share and distribute files between you and a group of people. But they can also be used to distribute malware, and thus are not considered safe.
The removal of these programs is optional, but highly recommended.
Should you choose to remove them, but you are having trouble doing so, please let me know in your next post here and I will aid you.

Go to Start > Control Panel > Add/Remove Programs and remove the following programs if present.

  • Limewire

The log looks okay, still having problems?

I'm not giving up, I was attacking what I could see. So lets go deeper and see if we find anything.

Please run a GMER Rootkit scan:

Download GMER's application from here:
[You must be registered and logged in to see this link.]

Unzip it and start the GMER.exe
Click the Rootkit tab and click the Scan button.

Once done, click the Copy button.
This will copy the results to your clipboard.
Paste the results in your next reply.

Warning ! Please, do not select the "Show all" checkbox during the scan.

If you're having problems with running GMER.exe, try it in safe mode.
This tools works in safe mode. Other rootkitrevealers don't.
The log will be huge, so please upload it to mediafire.com
