need help with recovery

one of my system32 files on my laptop had gone corrupt so i cant boot up in to windows xp any more is there any program i can use to boot up into to recover my files in my hard drive??
preferably something with usb support

If you dont have an XP installation disc that you can repair windows from you can always boot to a Linux 'Live disc' recovery distro and then transfer your data to an external drive (Hence the need for USB support) or another safe location.
