Solved winPcap

Post by Voods on Thu Feb 12, 2009 9:35 pm

I was wondering if anyboy else has the winPcap installed on thier computer.

I jave this, and do not remember installing it. I have read about it, and have had no consistent information. It seems to be either really dangerous or need somehow in the system. I know the program is used for network sniffing, or for tracing packets, but apparentley it can be a program for a genuine purpose.
Should I delete this?

Regards

If you didn't install it, yes.

As you said, if it's installed by an admin of the machine, it's used for legit purposes.
If not, then it could be used by anyone really.

Yes i would agree with Bel.

It can be used to monitor your habits from anywhere as it includes support for remote packet capture.
