Post by chueymtz on Sun Jan 11, 2009 2:32 am

I have a gateway 5012, when I power it on it doesn't give any display to the monitor, I've tried different monitors, and still no signal. i changed out the Intel CPU and it still gives no video. I dont know what else to do, any suggestions?

Any beep codes?

Disconnect all connected devices (hard drives, expansion cards, etc) and boot it up completely barebones using only the CPU and one single ram stick.

You should get the motherboard or BIOS welcome screen from the firmware on the chipset!

If you still get no signal then (providing your RAM is compatible and not faulty) its most likely a faulty motherboard issue.

Faulty or icompatible RAM however, should be giving you error beep codes.
