Solved Should i change my router to a 4 port

Post by Nilushan on 3rd January 2009, 4:55 am

I bought a D-link two port router to connect 2 computers and from the day i bought it I have experienced problems. On and off it will become o/k. During last week at least 20 times I couldn't go to internet.

Then after sometime it started working again.

When i contacted my ISP they sent a technician and he said that router will give me problems in the future. Is it true.
My router is a 2 port. 1 USB and 1 RJ45.
The technician said that i should change it to a 4 port.
So should i change it to a 4 port?

yes...even though depending on which one you are looking at...they can be expensive depending on your needs...just look around first decide what you are going to use it for...example internet, email, instant messenging, voip, games, etc

I would need to know in more detail how your network is physically set up (physical topology), how its configured in Windows (Logical topology), What model D-Link etc.......'the more info you can give on your networks setup, the better!
