By the way, I just installed Stopzilla and ran a scan. That seems to have allowed me to get to my homepage without it wanting to redirect, but it is not a registered copy and once I uninstall it I am afraid it will start the redirection again.

Hello.
I notice that you have Spybot's TeaTimer running. While this is normally a wonderful tool to protect against hijackers, it can also interfere with HijackThis fixes. So please disable TeaTimer by doing the following:
1) Run Spybot-S&D
2) Go to the Mode menu, and make sure "Advanced Mode" is selected
3) On the left hand side, choose Tools -> Resident
4) Uncheck "Resident TeaTimer" and OK any prompts
You can reenable TeaTimer once your system is clean.
Please make sure Teatimer is disable before we do this, otherwise this fix will fail.

Hello.
You are running two AV's (Anti-virus),I notice the presense of Norton AND AVG8.
Running two AV's is a bad idea, they conflict and cause more problems than they fix.
Press Start > Control Panel > open "Add/remove programs"
Allow the list to load and uninstall ONLY!! one AV by selecting each presense of whichever one you want to get rid of and pressing the "Remove" button to the right.
Please post back and let me know which one you've got rid of.

Interesting, I removed AVG last night and installed the Norton 2009 30 day trial. It should not be picking up on the AVG still. Anyway, I went ahead and got rid of the Norton trial version just now. I will reinstall AVG later. I will also be removing Stopzilla later as well. Thank you.

Hello.
I think you should install AVG again now!!, because you will be surfing without an AV and you'll get instantly infected again, no point going any further without an AV.
1) Antivir PersonalEditionClassic
-Free anti-virus software for Windows.
-Detects and removes more than 50,000 viruses. Free support.
2) avast! 4 Home Edition
-Anti-virus program for Windows.
-The home edition is freeware for noncommercial user.
3) AVG Anti-Virus Free Edition
- Free edition of the AVG anti-virus program for Windows.
- Available for single computer use for home and non commercial use.
It is strongly recommended that you run only one antivirus program at a time. Having more than one antivirus program active in memory uses additional resources and can result in program conflicts and false virus alerts.
Once you have installed an AV, then we'll continue.

Thank you.
Now open a new notepad file.
Input this into the notepad file:
Save this as CFScript.txt, save it to your desktop also.
Then drag and drop CFScript.txt into combofix as seen below:

This will open combofix.exe again, agree to it's terms and allow it to run, it may want to reboot after it's done. Post the resulting log back here.
Now open a new notepad file.
Input this into the notepad file:
Folder::
c:\documents and settings\Bob\Application Data\AdwareAlert
c:\program files\Perfect Defender 2009
Save this as CFScript.txt, save it to your desktop also.
Then drag and drop CFScript.txt into combofix as seen below:

This will open combofix.exe again, agree to it's terms and allow it to run, it may want to reboot after it's done. Post the resulting log back here.
