Spyware.Ispynow

Post by lalaloretta on 30th November 2008, 8:21 pm

This problem started a few days ago and i tried to look up some answers on the net. i followed this guy's solution and deleted some registry keys? I honestly had no idea what i was doing but it did stop that annoying windows security alert from popping up. However my comp still is acting weird.

Here's the HJT log :

Hello.

  • Open HijackThis
  • Choose "Do a system scan only"
  • Check the boxes in front of these lines:

    O4 - HKCU\..\Run: [XP Antivirus] C:\Program Files\XP Antivirus\xpantivirus.exe
    O4 - HKCU\..\Run: [SVCHOST.EXE] C:\WINDOWS\system32\drivers\svchost.exe
    O4 - HKLM\..\Policies\Explorer\Run: [application] C:\Program Files\AKProg\AKProg.exe hs

  • Press "Fix Checked"
  • Close Hijack This.

Delete these files and folders in bold:
C:\WINDOWS\system32\drivers\svchost.exe <== file, delete only in the drivers folder
C:\Program Files\XP Antivirus <== folder
C:\Program Files\AKProg <== folder
====

  • Download combofix from here, use the top links - [You must be registered and logged in to see this link.]
  • Double click on ComboFix.exe.
  • Follow the prompts. NOTE:
  • ComboFix will check to see if the Microsoft Windows Recovery Console is installed.
    ***It's strongly recommended to have the Recovery Console installed before doing any malware removal.***

    **Please note: If the Microsoft Windows Recovery Console is already installed, ComboFix will automatically proceed with its scan.

  • The Recovery Console provides a recovery/repair mode should a problem occur during a Combofix run.

  • Allow ComboFix to download the Recovery Console.
  • Accept the End-User License Agreement.
  • The Recovery Console will be installed.
  • You will this next prompt that asks if you want to continue the malware scan, select yes

  • Allow combofix to run
  • Post C:\combofix.txt back here.

    Note:
    Do not mouseclick combofix's window whilst it's running. That may cause it to stall.

Before we can continue, CF says reduced functionality mode, makes me think you used the bottom links on the combofix links page, are you not able to connect to the top links?
