I need help

Post by Coolhorn on Fri Nov 21, 2008 9:18 am

Hello i have a irritating problem with my computer.

Every time i use my computer to surf the net or play warcraft 3 ,after about 15 to 20 minutes the screen hangs, goes blank and comes up with a message that reads
Out of Range: H-frequency 28khz
V-frequency 38hz

and i cannot do anything to my computer except switch off the power button. what is wrong and how do i solve this problem?

There are a number of things i need you to check and answer for me.

(1) Have you got the latest drivers for your graphics card?
If so, did you properly remove the old video drivers before installing new?

Have you changed any hardware.......graphics cards?

(2) Are your resolution and refresh rates set correctly? you can try setting it to 60 to test the game.

(3) did you make sure to install DirectX 9c or better?

(4) Do you need updated drivers for your motherboard i.e. if VIA?

(5) Are you using a minimum of XP SP2 operating system?

Regards

Down this freeware app to identify your internal hardware specifics.

http://www.majorgeeks.com/Belarc_Advisor_d1385.html

Need more accurate info as i dont recognize this model off hand......is it AGP, PCI? V3000 or V3000ZX

Once you have the details from the above app, have a search on the Asus Website for any driver updates.

Whats your situation with the other questions i asked?

Regards

Try changing your monitor's resolution to a lower one. Have you tried the suggestions by Digitalocksmith in his first post?

i have not changed any new hardware recently...
According to a software that i have downloaded, Uniblue Driver Scanner , my drivers are all updated.
