Post by mcovotery on 7th October 2008, 3:05 am

Hi everyone

Im in Australia and thinking of buying a computer late November

So could you suggest stuff e.g. hardware that may get cheaper around that time etc etc (anything you wish to tell me)

My aim is to get a Gaming Computer

and the price range is between $1000-2500 (2500 is really pushing it)

This mobo/CPU/RAM combo would run just about anything you could throw at it.
http://cgi.ebay.com.au/ASUS-Motherboard-P5K-VM-Intel-Q6600-CPU-4Gb-DDR2-RAM_W0QQitemZ310088869166QQihZ021QQcategoryZ111427QQssPageNameZWDVWQQrdZ1QQcmdZViewItem

From there, you would need to choose a suitable gaming case (with adequate cooling), at least 750 watt PSU, and a decent graphics card (minimum 512mb PCIe compatible) and enough hard drive space for your needs.

If you need any further info or guidance just post back and i will be glad to help out!

Regards

It will save you a few dollars building your own setup.......and its not that hard really.

If your not sure how to construct a gaming PC on your own, there is a wealth of info out there (computer building tutorials etc) at the touch of google.

Do u know any good stores that are located throughout Australia? (other than MSY)

Ebay.au or this one are usually my two fav's

http://www.eyo.com.au/

You can shop till you drop, but when it comes down to it, you wont beat either of these for the latest setups and best pricing......just my experience with them!

Then again, i dont like to crap around with price too much as i found there is little difference in the end.....whats more important to me is reliability, quality and fast, efficient delivery (postage) from a known reputable trader.

Good luck

Either of these will run most of what you will require!

I like suggestion 1 coupled with a decent PSU of say around 650 watt min!
