Solved Request: Searching for freeware alt. to Stardocks Windows FX

Post by Jerry Parnell on Sun Aug 24, 2008 4:35 am

Windows FX is a software created and copywrited by Stardock LTD. Long story short, it applys some amasing effects to application windows apon closeing, minimizing, and moving.

It is VERY expensive and doesnt support Windows Vista Home Basic.

I am looking for a freeware alternative to it, but I have no idea exactly what I am looking for.

Can you guys help me find one. Just remember that it must support Windows Vista Home Basic.
Even if you cant, please reply to let me know that you tried. If you tell me what you tried, it might give me a few more ideas.

Thanks guys. Honored

here's one similar to Berly called DeskSpace (formerly Yod'm 3D):

http://www.softpedia.com/get/System/OS-Enhancements/Yod-m-3D.shtml

It works well with vista.

Here are some others.

Y'z Shadow available here:

Or you can try this link:

or this:

But the thing is I have no idea if they all work on Vista

Awesome (sparkly)

Hi Doc,
Thank you for trying friend, but none of them are quite what I was looking for.

Here is a product page for Windows FX. If you look at its description, and the videos on the page, you can see what I am looking for: http://www.stardock.com/products/windowfx/

Thanks for trying friend, I look forward to seeing your reply.

Not quite. The screen shots dont portray the true abilitys of the program.

The features that I am looking for are the morphing effects that happen when you open, close, and drag windows.

I am starting to think that this is the only program that can do it...

I kindof figured that there wasnt anything like it.

Stardock does a lot of very amasing coding, that nobody has been able to match.
