CTRL key may be broken

Post by fakemoomoo on Wed Apr 01, 2015 3:02 am

Both CTRL keys are not working, I am unable to use the keyboard shortcuts. I thought it was something with the language setting, but I made sure it's set to English (USA). I also tested the onscreen keyboard and I am able to use the keyboard shortcuts, so I'm not sure if this is a software or hardware issue. I ordered a T5 screwdriver to open up the laptop and clean the keyboard, but I was wondering if you had any other insight on what may be wrong or anything else I can do. Thank you for any help you can provide!

Did you try another keyboard?

Yes, I tried using a wireless logitech keyboard with a USB adaptor and I was able to use the keyboard shortcuts just fine.

Evidently there is something amiss with the keyboard. It could be just some dirt or perhaps something more serious. There are many videos on YouTube on how to clean laptop keyboards.
