Desktop computer displays the above error message when the network diagnostics are run after internet explorer says page cannot be displayed. I have tried restarting both the modem and router and ensured all cables are snug. Router firmware is up to date as well. My smartphone and laptop are both connected to the internet through the router with no problems leading me to believe it is an issue with the desktop. Thanks in advance for any help you can provide.

You could try this:
- Click Start (bottom left corner)
- Click Control Panel
- Then select "Internet options"
- Then a box will appear. At the top there will be several tabs. Select Connections.
- Then choose LAN settings
- Then uncheck all boxes for using a web proxy
- REBOOT your computer.
