HP amd quad core

Post by nathdaig90 on Fri 23 Nov 2012, 3:51 pm

I was working on a project when all of a sudden my laptop turned off. Sometimes it does this because its overheating, but it was not hot, at all. When i tried to turn it back on right away, it wouldnt turn on at all. When I let it sit for a few minutes, it turned on and came to a screen that said "Launch startup repair (system restore) or launch normally", I didnt even have time to click an option when the laptop shut off again.
When I let it sit longer, I can get through any kind of startup screen for a longer period of time, but it always ends up shutting down again.
I was just wondering if this is an internal problem, or if maybe my battery is just fried? I've only had the laptop for 14 months.
Thanks for any help you may provide!
PS: I am using my old laptop that i kept just in case to write this message.

If you think it's battery, then did you try to keep the AC adapter plugged in while the computer was booting, started up, etc.
