Computer Infected?

Post by Incendiax on Thu Nov 01, 2012 12:14 pm

I moved my computer from upstairs to downstairs, and ever since a few days after that I suspect to be infected with viruses or something along those lines. My mouse cursor will constantly flicker for hours on end, then be completely normal for a few hours. Additionally, Firefox will randomly start opening new tabs over and over again, and sometimes it even opens new Firefox windows by the dozen and won't stop until I force end the process via task manager; even then, the windows keep popping up for a while.

I've run MalwareBytes scans and AVG scans only to find nothing. I saw another thread which suggested I use a software called TDSS to scan & report, so here's the data I got from that.

Well I'm being told the message is too long. Seems extremely counter productive to have a character limit in a forum you need to submit long reports in. I'll post it when somebody requests it?

Hi there. Welcome to GeekPolice.

My student Rodel will be with you as soon as possible...

For now, please submit that report to a file-sharing site:

Upload to [You must be registered and logged in to see this link.].
  • When you enter the site, click the center bar, "Click here to upload[...]", find the file "otl.txt" in the same location as OTL. Select that, and upload it.
  • Once you do that, you will get a sharing link. Please post that in your next reply.

Hello DragonMaster Jay,

Sorry for my late reply, I accidentally cleared my browsing history and forgot this website! Here's the download link to the report. [You must be registered and logged in to see this link.]

Thanks for your help so far!

Hello Incendiax. Smile

Please download [You must be registered and logged in to see this link.] by OldTimer to your Desktop.
  • Close all windows and double click OTL.exe.
  • Click Run Scan and let the program run uninterrupted.
  • It will produce two logs for you, one will pop up - OTL.txt, the other will be saved on your Desktop - Extras.txt. Post the contents of both logs in this thread.
  • You may need to use two posts to get it all.
