well that depends on what you are going to use it for. For basic tasks such as searching, checking email, finding forms and other stuff like that it is fast. It is not intended for the use of downloading a torrent of Linux and other legal things due to the fact that everyone will see the change in the network if your doing something like that. One thing about tor is that it is nice, but it is meant for things that will not get you in trouble such as braking laws. You as the user have to use your judgment and use it for good intent and understand it a little bit before you really know why it works for so many people.
