cannot-delete-access-denied-maybe-a-virus-part 2

Post by headysfather on Wed Apr 18, 2012 9:29 pm

I just ran across a topic in your forum "http://www.GeekPolice.net/t28582-cannot-delete-access-deniedmaybe-a-virus". the exact same thing is happening on my wife's laptop. I have tried many of the same programs to search for virus, found one but it did not help my access problem. The problem is this: I cannot change the name of a file or folder, if I make a new folder and I try to change the name from "New Folder" it is not allowed. I also cannot delete a file or folder. I read all the way thruogh the three pages of the prior post, should have just skipped to the end because no solution was reached at the end. Was anything further reported by Brick as a solution to his problem. I just think that it is weird that the same thing is happening to me

Please visit this webpage for a tutorial on downloading and running ComboFix:

See the area: Using ComboFix, and when done, post the log back here.

I don't think you understand my question, but since my post I do have more information. I ran Kaspersky TDSSKiller and it found some file digital signature which I deleted and the problem went away. Don't know how that worked, I would be interested if you could figure that out

This area of the site is for use of virus, spyware & malware removal.

For the most part, we help actually solve the problems in this section of the site.

However, that topic has an individual helper, Superdave, whom you would want to contact instead privately, by PM.

If you'd still like me to help with the problem and assist in diagnosing it, etc, let me know.
