Solved How do I open ISO files?

Post by cutekitten1122 on Sat Aug 16, 2008 1:56 am

I have downloaded a software in the ISO form, but I am unable to open it to install it alongside my existing version of Windows XP.

The Microsoft's site states that Windows doesnít support ISO files and a third-party utility is required.

ISO files are disc images, and you can burn CDs from them using any CD-writer and CD-burning software that supports ISO images.

If you donít have burning software then you'll find a freeware tool called ImgBurn available at http://www.imgburn.com/

Once installed, run the program, click the first of the three available options and choose File -> Write Disc from ISO File. Insert a blank CD, browse to the ISO file you downloaded and the program will burn the CD for you.

You can also choose from another list of softwares which can be found here:

Awesome (sparkly)
