Help i have a virus!!

Post by Mr Manjam on Sun Jul 10, 2011 9:26 pm

I have some sort of malware/virus that is affecting my laptop. It all started off a few days ago when i was browsing the web, i was looking through a website and felt a bit hungry (nothing unusual was happening at this stage)

Went to make a sandwich, got back and my internet screens had been closed and there was a scan running saying trojans found, so i was clicking remove but it would not work. It was then i found out i had been infected with the infamous anti-malware doctor...

After that i tried running an AVG scan to get rid of it, but i wouldn't pick it up. So i downloaded Rkill because i kept on getting pops ups asking me to buy anti-malware doctor, then i downloaded malwarebytes' anti-malware and ran a scan. It found over 30 infections, including trojans, backdoor.bots...the list goes on.

As soon as i thought i was home and clear, i rebooted my laptop and started getting bombarded with pop-ups saying hello4 and blank window2, which slowed my laptop down to an unusable rate. Now i cannot log on without going into safe mode, otherwise it will just freeze up.

I was doing some re-search into what happened and found that it might of infected my restore files, so i tried going to control panel and opening up system (in safe mode) so i could turn off system restore and it won't let me!! I tried opening add or remove programs and it won't let me open that either, all i see when i double click it is a quick flash as if it is trying to load but can't.

I'm guessing that the virus/malware is stopping me from opening certain things to protect itself??

I need help please :[

Please visit this webpage for a tutorial on downloading and running ComboFix:

[You must be registered and logged in to see this link.]

See the area: Using ComboFix, and when done, post the log back here.

Save these instructions so you can have access to them while in Safe Mode.

Please click [You must be registered and logged in to see this link.] to download AVP Tool by Kaspersky.
  • Save it to your desktop.
  • Reboot your computer into SafeMode. You can do this by restarting your computer and continually tapping the F8 key until a menu appears. Use your up arrow key to highlight SafeMode then hit enter.
  • Double click the setup file to run it.
  • Click Next to continue.
  • Accept the License agreement and click on next.
  • It will, by default, install it to your desktop folder. Click Next.
  • It will then open a box There will be a tab that says Automatic scan.
  • Under Automatic scan make sure these are checked.
  • Hidden Startup Objects
  • System Memory
  • Disk Boot Sectors.
  • My Computer.
  • Also any other drives (Removable that you may have)
Leave the rest of the settings as they appear as default.
  • Then click on Scan at the to right hand Corner.
  • It will automatically Neutralize any objects found.
  • If some objects are left un-neutralized then click the button that says Neutralize all
  • If it says it cannot be neutralized then choose the delete option when prompted.
  • After that is done click on the reports button at the bottom and save it to file name it Kas.
  • Save it somewhere convenient like your desktop and just post only the detected Virus\malware in the report it will be at the very top under Detected post those results in your next reply.

Note: This tool will self uninstall when you close it so please save the log before closing it.
