I've tried both and Flashget is better in my opinion. But I'm not sure if they are working quick enough updating the Download Manager etc. But I personally would still go for Flashget

I don't think it's going to help much on dail-up since it has very limited bandwidth. Can't really go anywhere near 56kbs. Sad tearing

just having problems resuming downloads...

I'm not sure about that, but usually download problems lie with the host not the downloader.
