Windows not working properly

Post by Lynangeel on Mon Apr 25, 2011 2:17 pm

Hi, I got a new computer with windows xp already installed but no anti virus I started updating it. I updated java, windows, updates, etc. Window was working fine then. Then I downloaded avast . After downloading that my programs didn't work. My system retore doesn't work , you can't got to my hotmail, face book, or even microsoft sites or i can't even activate windows or run windows online scanner. Avast didn't properly install because it downloaded in a different language that I couldn't understand. So I tried to uninstall it using revo uninstaller. So after that I downloaded avg. Then I found out that avast was not still completely off my computer. I contacted you to see if I had a virus. I did the otl and my response was I had too many virus protections on the computer. The fact is it started like I stated before avg. But anyway I found out that avast had a uninstall utility that I had to download and now it supposedly off my computer. But it is still doing the same thing. I can surf any other sites just fine. Could it be my windows program defected or a setting that isn't set right? Thanks
