BSOD ntkrpamp.exe to blame?

Post by Optoer on 2nd April 2011, 10:19 pm

I have recently bought and assembled myself a computer. Everything was going fine for a while but out of the blue I get a bSOD saying IRQL_Not_Less_or_Equal. I ran whocrashed and it said that ntkrpamp.exe was the cause. This is the first time I have built a computer and I barely have a lot of computer experience. Can anyone help me?

The specs for this computer are as follows:

Operating system: Windows 7
RAM: 4 gb corsair
CPU: AMD Phenom II X4 840 Procesoor 3.20GHz
Video Card: ATi Radeon 5770 1gb
Motherboard: GA-880GM-UD2H rev 1.4
Netwrok Adapter: TRENDnet TEW-643PI

Oh another thing. While building a computer (I built it with my dad) my dad accidentally put the fan for the CPU on the table and a small amount of the heatsink stuff got on the table. My dad has had a lot of experience with computers but i thought I should say that just in case that might be the cause.
