Folder not accessable "Access is Denied"

Post by chipmcneill on Tue Feb 22, 2011 2:25 am

I've picked up a virus or maleware. After several attempts to run Malewarebytes from my jumpdrive the infection disable my keyboard and mouse after Windows XP starts (they work fine in DOS mode). I removed the infected drive and slaved it to another, then ran Malewarebytes from my jumpdrive. Found and removed several infections but still no mouse or keyboard when booting to the previously infected drive.

I need to do one of two things:
Get my keyboard and mouse working again or recover My Documents so I can reformat the drive.

Trying to recover My Documents, I slaved the drive again but cannot access any of the folders under F:\Documents and Settings\Owner. I get the error "F:\Documents and Settings\Owner is not accessable. Access is denied." I tried changing the permissions and sharing the drive - but no luck.

Any ideas?
Thanks for any help you can provide.
