Trojan Horse R.xj

Post by RidaVaquas on Fri 11 Feb 2011, 7:00 am

Whenever I scan on AVG I get that svchost.exe, explorer.exe, wuaclt.exe and iexplorer.exe are all infected with Trojan Horse Agent r.XJ. AVG only removes the 1/2 of them because the ones with :/memory are inaccessible.

I know that some of these are core system processes which is why I'm terrified that they're infected.

Microsoft Security Essentials doesn't detect anything. Also after a few hours of being on my computer I get this error message 'Generic Host Process for Win32 has encountered a problem and needs to close'. Then my sound device gets disabled and I need to restart my computer.

Please help!

Download OTL by OldTimer to your Desktop.

  • Close all windows and double click OTL.exe
  • Click Run Scan and let the program run uninterrupted
  • It will produce two logs for you, one will pop up - OTL.txt, the other will be saved on your Desktop - Extras.txt. Post both logs in this thread.
  • You may need to use two posts to get it all.
