how do I change directory names for default user in Windows 7

Post by pavisa on Wed Dec 22, 2010 4:28 pm

Hello. I have looked all over the Internet, but I cannot find a decent answer to my question. I recently purchased a one-year-old computer from someone and it has Windows 7 Home Premium as the OS. I want to change the directory names for the default user to my name instead of the previous owner's name, which is what they are currently. I have already changed the login name for the default user to my name, but that made no difference in the directory names for all my files, which still shows the previous owner's name. This isn't really that big a deal, but I would like to be able to have everything in my name if possible. No one seems to have an answer for this that actually works. Can anyone here help? Thanks.

Hi and welcome to GeekPolice.net!

You can easy create new User in User Account window or change old one. If you create new with administrator privileges you'll be able to use it as your main, and you can delete old one.

Here is how to create new one :
http://windows.microsoft.com/en-US/windows7/Create-a-user-account

And how to delete old one but KEEP FILES from it :

I hope this will help you.
