HDD and no IE8

Post by alane3 on Sun 12 Dec 2010, 7:15 am

I was infected with thinkpoint virus and used malwarebytes to remove. NOW i keep getting the HDD popup when I start my computer. It is running Windows XP. I also can't get IE8 to run. When I click on it, I get the message that it closed unexpectedly and do i want to restore last session or go to home page then it closes automatically. I got firefox to load but after running a while i get the message that there are critical errors with my hard drive and it needs to shut down.

i'm on my laptop posting this. What do i do?!?!

Hello.

Download OTL by OldTimer to your Desktop.

  • Close all windows and double click OTL.exe
  • Click Run Scan and let the program run uninterrupted
  • It will produce two logs for you, one will pop up - OTL.txt, the other will be saved on your Desktop - Extras.txt. Post both logs in this thread.
  • You may need to use two posts to get it all.
