I ran the scan...it didn't ask to install activeX, and asked to uninstall on exit so I said yes and can't find the log file now. It found 0 files, but I am running the scan again to post results

I ran it again, it found no more files that time, but also didn't give me an updated log. Am I supposed to try again? Should I be doing this from IE? It still has not asked me to install active x on chrome (the browser I usually use)

Nah. It'll be fine.

Any more issues so far?

No, it doesn't seem to happen there, but pop-ups seem rampant no matter which browser I use since just before this malware thing too. How do I control some of this and get my system running efficiently and safely? What is the best way to maintain this in the future?

Let's see if we can reset Firefox.
