System Tool 2011

Post by GMan316 on Fri Nov 12, 2010 1:40 am

Hi, my comp was recently infected with a program called security tool 2011. I tried to follow the malware removal instructions from the removal guides section to no avail. When I ran quick scan with malwarebytes it found nothing. I then tried the full scan and it found 1 thing. I removed it and rebooted and security tool 2011 was still there. Any help would be appreciated, thanks.

EDIT: My mistake, the name of the program is actually "System Tool 2011" and not "Security Tool 2011"

Hello.

Download [You must be registered and logged in to see this link.] by OldTimer to your Desktop.

  • Close all windows and double click OTL.exe
  • Click Run Scan and let the program run uninterrupted
  • It will produce two logs for you, one will pop up - OTL.txt, the other will be saved on your Desktop - Extras.txt. Post both logs in this thread.
  • You may need to use two posts to get it all.

Are you still with us?

We need to know any other issues that are plaguing your computer. Kindly give a summary so we know how to continue from here.

Many of the things to note for us would be:

  • Slow computer
  • Error messages
  • Fake antivirus alerts or the icon in the system tray
  • svchost.exe running at 100%
  • System crashes or blue screen of death
