XP on a Gateway M6817 laptop computer.

Post by Mambo King on 6th November 2010, 6:22 pm

Originaly the laptop came with Vista but a mere travel through the air going south directly to the beautilfully tiled floor produced the killing affect neessary to end Vista and the HD. I installed a new HD and installed XP becuase thats what I had. its working rather well but I cannot get the drivers for Video and the IDE controleer to load, the my computer window does not dispaly the DVD/CDROM also the camara a usb2.0 device will not load its drivers. looks like XP service pack three found the correct drivers but they did not load correctly ? and the devices are still not running. the drivers that I have found from Gateway most are for vista. any chance of other drivers working.

drivers not working: Video Controller: Mobile intel 965 intel chipset family
ATA/ ATAPI : IDE controller
video camera : USB2.0
sound : IDT highdefenition audio codec

I did the install of XP using an XP OEM installation disk inserted with the drivers for SATA. have any suggestions.

Thank you very much
