NEED help with removal ASAP

Post by Mikr on Fri 22 Oct 2010, 9:41 am

i am new to this site so pardon any wrong sections posts or anything like that. I really need help as my laptop is on the fritz. i have a dell inspiron 1545 i believe and i cant do a thing with it. I used it this morning and it was fine, then i came back from getting something to eat and a pop that took up the whole screen said microsoft security back up or something like that with a button in the middle to push so i can back up my stuff. i immediately thought it was a scam so i tried to exit and minimize the screen but everytime i pushed a button it would make another pop up of the same screen. i then tried to start the task manager but it would not even show up. so i finally gave in after a couple of hours and clicked the back up button in hopes of letting me click anything besides the pop up. it shut down the laptop and i turned it back on. i thought all went well until i tried to use Internet Explorer. it goes to some flv tube site and the mouse starts to move by itself and i cant control anything. it tried to download something else from that site but i shut the laptop down by holding the power button for 5 sec before it could happen. i dont know if its a trojan, virus, or malware or anything so i REALLY COULD USE SOME HELP getting it off my laptop and back to normal

btw i have to use my friends computer to do this, so the information i can get from my laptop is somewhat limited

Hello.

Download OTL by OldTimer to your Desktop.

  • Close all windows and double click OTL.exe
  • Click Run Scan and let the program run uninterrupted
  • It will produce two logs for you, one will pop up - OTL.txt, the other will be saved on your Desktop - Extras.txt. Post both logs in this thread.
  • You may need to use two posts to get it all.

Yes, use the flash drive if needed.
