Think Point Virus

Post by yraellie on Fri 22 Oct 2010, 6:30 am

I need help removing the think point virus off my laptop.

I realized something was wrong because nothing on my computer was working.
I have no access to internet regardless of the browser that I used. (google chrome, Internet Explorer & Safari)
My volume is down and it says that I don't have to change it.
I don't have access to change anything as of now.

I downloaded Malwarebytes Anti Malware and it scanned and it found only 1 infected item.
I deleted it, restarted and nothing had been fixed.

When I go to the "Notification Area Icons" it shows all my Icons and all of them are disabled.
When I try to change it, once again it states I don't have the authority to do that.

Can anyone help me?

Download OTL by OldTimer to your Desktop.

  • Close all windows and double click OTL.exe
  • Click Run Scan and let the program run uninterrupted
  • It will produce two logs for you, one will pop up - OTL.txt, the other will be saved on your Desktop - Extras.txt. Post both logs in this thread.
  • You may need to use two posts to get it all.
