Re: pc wont connect after 18 infections removed by malewarebytes

Post by Belahzur on Sun Oct 10, 2010 9:21 pm

Hello.

  1. Close any open browsers.
  2. Close/disable all anti virus and anti malware programs so they do not interfere with the running of ComboFix.
  3. Open notepad and copy/paste the text in the quotebox below into it:
    Code:

    KILLALL::

    Folder::
    c:\documents and settings\chris\Application Data\Ohekg
    c:\documents and settings\chris\Application Data\Etofo

    Driver::
    Iprip
    ndisdrv
  4. Save this as CFScript.txt, in the same location as ComboFix.exe

  5. Referring to the picture above, drag CFScript into ComboFix.exe
  6. When finished, it shall produce a log for you at C:\ComboFix.txt
  7. Please post the contents of the log in your next reply.

Please download and run this tool.

Download Malwarebytes' Anti-Malware from [You must be registered and logged in to see this link.]

Double Click mbam-setup.exe to install the application.

  • Make sure a checkmark is placed next to Update Malwarebytes' Anti-Malware and Launch Malwarebytes' Anti-Malware, then click Finish.
  • If an update is found, it will download and install the latest version.
  • Once the program has loaded, select "Perform Quick Scan", then click Scan.
  • The scan may take some time to finish,so please be patient.
  • When the scan is complete, click OK, then Show Results to view the results.
  • Make sure that everything is checked, and click Remove Selected.
  • When disinfection is completed, a log will open in Notepad and you may be prompted to Restart. (See Note)
  • The log is automatically saved by MBAM and can be viewed by clicking the Logs tab in MBAM.
Note:
If MBAM encounters a file that is difficult to remove, you will be presented with 1 of 2 prompts.
Click OK to either and let MBAM proceed with the disinfection process.
If asked to restart the computer, please do so immediately.

Post the contents of the MBAM Log.

Hello.
Are you on a router? I'm thinking your router has been hijacked by the malware and will require a manual restart back to factory default.

Hello.
I'll try break this down for you.

The router works by connecting to your ISP's DNS servers, well the malware has changed that to work on the bad guys DNS servers and the only way of fixing that is doing a manual factory restore which will stop the hijack, but also will probably kill your working internet connection.

No, that will just reboot the router, you have to actually restart it back to factory default via going into the router via your web browser.

Yes it is.

I wont get too technical, but it's a setting so even if your on the network, the router wont assign the machine an IP adress.
