You can try out other websites, too.

Ping is a good way to see if there is a problem with your connectivity to the internet... Also, only certain website will not load, while other will display fine. In this case you can try pinging your DNS servers, if one pings, and the other doesn't that's your problem. Learn to ping a website in Windows to resolve technical issues on your computer.

As I already said in my above post:

Ping calculates the round-trip time of the data packet's route from its source to the destination and back, and determines whether any packets were lost during the trip.Lower ping is better one.Because you have high ping rate,your internet speed is low.So you can't play any game on the internet.The purpose of pinging an ip address is to know the connection strength between the computers connection in a LAN.You can also use the ping command to know the connection from your computer to website.This is internet ping.PING means Pocket INternet Gopher .Ping returns value in ms (mili seconds).If the sent and received packets are same in the result the connection strength is good.For example sent packets =4 and received packets is =4 it is good connection.If the sent and received packets are different i.e sent =4 received =0 there is a connection loss.SO you need to check the internet connection and modem etc and try to reset the modem and connect it again to check the ping.Ping first try to contact the particular server or ip address you are pinging in.If there will be response come soon you can get the result good.Otherwise packets loss will occur.Then you can ping an ip address by using two ways.
1.Using command prompt
2.Using online
For checking your ping using command prompt.
start->run->cmd prompt->ping ip address
If you are interested to check your ping rate using online site, try http://www.whoisxy.com/ping.aspx
