Post by kat30 on Mon Sep 06, 2010 10:30 pm

Ive been trying to find out why my computers start up is slowing down and my system is lagging. through performance info and tools i found a diagnostics log refering to 3 specific drivers causing windows to resume slowly it asked if i want to remove from list. I dont know any thing about computers and didnt know what i should do, i assume these drivers are for my printer? Idk im lost. . .any suggestions?

Hi, this is strange and new problem for me. I decide to help you and learn something too ;)

Please go to Device Manager and tell me if you have some Yellow marks on driver list ?

Okay, put Windows 7 disc in your computer.

  • Press Windows key + R on your keyboard, you should see Run windows now.
  • Use this command sfc /scannow and press Enter.
  • Wait for Windows to finish, when that happen, restart your computer.

Note : You have to put space between "c" and "/".
Something changed ?

You probably didn't put correct command, as i said you have to hit space between c and /

It should work

I suggest you to reinstall Windows. As i can see, many of users over the Web have same problem, it's related to Windows. You probably had some drivers or system files issues, it's nothing unusual.

I realize this is a few years to late, but maybe I can help someone else having a similar issue. The reason the system file checker (sfc /scannow) wasn't running is because it needs to be run as an administrator.

What you need to do is this: First open the start menu and there you should see a search bar right above the start button. In the search field type cmd but don't hit enter or click start!!! You will see cmd or cmd.exe at the top of the list of results. Now you just have to right click on cmd.exe and select "run as administrator" from the menu.

The command prompt window will now open and you can type "sfc /scannow" in and the scan should begin. It may take awhile, just be patient, then reboot after it's finished.

I just hope this can help someone.
