Facebook Hack assistance

Post by Mary gardener on Thu Sep 02, 2010 1:59 am

Does anyone know if Facebook really will assist me with the fact that my account has been hacked. The hacker changed my login so I cannot login. Now they are posting mean and nasty things on my wall and response to others as well. I'm getting frustrated.

Yikes

Thanks Happyhunter. Over the weekend, I received the generic response email. It said if I am unable to login, reply to the email and they will assist me further.

I have replied to that initial email every day since Sundy and have yet to receive assistance!!

At this point, a beer to cry in would work!!!

Hey Mary gardener,

Are you still having the issue with the hacker? Or has it been resolved?

These types of things are usually not that easy to resolve because there isn't much we can do about it considering there is no "AntiFacebookHack" programs out there.

Yes, my account is still hacked. The hacker hasn't posted since 9/14/10. I have gotten 2 emails from Facebook asking me to verify what my problems are and if I am still having account issues. I have been emailing them daily since August 28th.

After I posted the above, I received an email from Facebook saying they have changed back my account's email (LOGIN) name to what it was and assigned me a temporary password. After 24 day, my persistence paid off. I emailed them every day asking about my account. Also, I purchased Kaspersky and it found a keylogger!!

Ah, this is good news. However, make sure that the keylogger is gone, because otherwise you're going to have the same issue right after logging back in to Facebook.

The keylogger is what brings me back today. I have recently purchased Kaspersky and it runs daily. It comes up with one object and reads: "legal software that can be used by criminals for damaging your computer or personal data PDM.keylogger"

I'm not sure how to proceed. I do use an on screen keyboard when entering passwords.

PDM stands for Proactive Defense Module. Most of the time, the detection is not correct, or just KIS being over-protective.

Please follow the instructions here: http://support.kaspersky.com/kis2010/proactive?qid=208281028
