AV Suite shutting down anti-virus programs

Post by jukomo on Sun 04 Jul 2010, 11:25 am

Hello, I was surfing the internet the other day and this AV Suite thing popped up. I have done some research and tried downloading OTL and HJT. However, whenever I tried to open these icons on my desktop, they close. I cannot scan/remove/do anything! Please help me.

Hi jukomo,

Welcome! A few things before we start....
1. Please Read All Instructions Carefully.
2. If you don't understand something, stop and ask! Don't keep going on.
3. Please do not run any other tools or scans whilst I am helping you.
4. If you have to go away for an extended period of time, let me know.
5. Please continue to respond until I give you the "All Clear".
(Just because you can't see a problem doesn't mean it isn't there)

RKill by Grinler
Version 1
Version 2

  • Download Version 1.
  • Save it to your Desktop.
  • Double click the RKill desktop icon.
If you are using Vista please right click and run as Admin!
  • A black screen will briefly flash indicating a successful run.
  • If this does not occur please delete that application and download Version 2.
  • Continue process until the tool runs.
  • If the tool does not run from any of the links tell me about it.
This only kills the active infection, the actual infection will not be gone.

==============

Now give OTL a run and post the log(s) generated in your reply. You may need two posts to get it all.

EDIT: Oh I get what you mean. After you run MalwareBytes, are you able to run OTL?
