Unable to update windows and rerouted to locations while on internet MFDCLK001

Post by jello on 31st May 2010, 2:07 pm

I have webroot antivirus. It detected and blocked several viruses however when go on internet often webpage starts to be rerouted to another page. I stop the rerouting by pushing control w or ctrl/alt/delete. Webroot sessionlog shows MFDCLK001.org internet communication shield blocked and 873HGF7XX60.com internet communication shield blocked over several days and the occurence is increasing. Today, I tried to update windows/microsoft thinking that may help the security issue and am unable to update. Message I receive error:0x80072EFF and "encountered a problem cannot display the page you are trying to view". Concerned I may have a virus or an attempt at phishing. Webroot after multiple scans shows as a success and 0 virus found but MFDCLK001.org keeps showing up in log and web issues and update still a problem. Suggestions?

Download the [You must be registered and logged in to see this link.]. Unzip it to your Desktop.

Before scanning, make sure all other running programs are closed and no other actions like a scheduled antivirus scan will occur while the scan is being performed. Do not use your computer for anything else during the scan.

  • Double click GMER.exe.

  • If it gives you a warning about rootkit activity and asks if you want to run a full scan...click on NO, then use the following settings for a more complete scan..
  • In the right panel, you will see several boxes that have been checked. Ensure the following are UNCHECKED ...

    • IAT/EAT
    • Drives/Partition other than Systemdrive (typically C:\)
    • Show All (don't miss this one)
