BankerFox.A on laptop with many probs

Post by rufeyj79 on Sun 23 May 2010, 4:52 pm

Was reading through previous posts on forum and seems my problem is far from unique,ie.,pop ups, no internet access per IE.
I am lazy, read all the steps to manually remove virus so i called norton, they wanted to charge me to remove it when i have norton 360 on 4 home computers. Something came to mind, was much easier also,(hope i did not mess anything up). I was able to restart with f8held down, safe with networking mode, I IMMEDIATELY OPENED MOST RECENT SYSTEM RESTORE,was only a couple days ago opened norton to run a scan again. There were about 6 problems needing immed attention then i updated everything. Omg guess what, it works, not all the looking for files and deleting them etc. no downloading. Not sure if this was kosher but it sure made me happy after almost 24hrs of that crap. Hope this helps someone, lol, and does not blow up in my face.

Download OTL by OldTimer to your Desktop.

  • Close all windows and double click OTL.exe
  • Click Run Scan and let the program run uninterrupted
  • It will produce two logs for you, one will pop up - OTL.txt, the other will be saved on your Desktop - Extras.txt. Post both logs in this thread.
  • You may need to use two posts to get it all.
