Help Assistant Virus

Post by metalman2010 on Fri May 21, 2010 6:23 pm

Running Windows XP Home edition. Have the "Help Assistant" folder and cannot delete.

Need some advise on how to eliminate. This computer is from 2006 and has too many programs runnng in background. Kids took it over for a few years and I now have it back. Turned off Avast during last ESET scan

Ran OTL and have files available

Download [You must be registered and logged in to see this link.] by OldTimer to your Desktop.

  • Close all windows and double click OTL.exe
  • Click Run Scan and let the program run uninterrupted
  • It will produce two logs for you, one will pop up - OTL.txt, the other will be saved on your Desktop - Extras.txt. Post both logs in this thread.
  • You may need to use two posts to get it all.
