Corrupted Files

Post by clockwerk on 8th May 2010, 10:49 pm

I've been getting graphical glitches on pictures I viewed and almost every file I downloaded was corrupted.
I ran chkdsk about 3 times to try and fix the problem, but to no avail.
I've recently reformatted the PC, and the problems still occur.
Symptoms: Corrupted downloads, messed up pictures in web browser, flash videos buggy, unable to watch youtube videos.
Any answers for this would be greatly appreciated.
If it matters, I'm using a Dell Ispiron 530S

Hi clockwerk

did chkdsk show up an errors at all? have you gotten any SMART warnings at all? you could try getting the make of your hard drive and downloading the diagnostic utility form the manufacturer's website to run a proper diagnostic check of your hard drive
