BankerFox.A and win32/Nugel.E Removal Help

Post by paulw on Thu May 06, 2010 3:35 pm

I have recently acquired this trojan on my laptop running Vista Business ed. I tried running the OTL but it tells me that the .exe is infected. I have tried to disable my AVG to try and run RKill but again the .exe is infected. What do I do? Please help.

Download [You must be registered and logged in to see this link.] by OldTimer to your Desktop.

  • Close all windows and double click OTL.exe
  • Click Run Scan and let the program run uninterrupted
  • It will produce two logs for you, one will pop up - OTL.txt, the other will be saved on your Desktop - Extras.txt. Post both logs in this thread.
  • You may need to use two posts to get it all.

Thank you for getting back to me. I appreciate your help.
I only have the one document. The extra.txt doc did not come up on my desktop nor was it saved. Here is the 1st doc.
I am trying to send this file and each time I either copy paste the doc into the post-a-reply box it doesn't work or I try to upload the doc and it tells me the uploaded file is not valid?

Hello;
I was able to use ATF Cleaner and followed all of the instructions. When it came to the eset Online Scanner I was not able to get online. When I try to use Internet Explorer it says Internet Explorer cannot display the webpage. ([You must be registered and logged in to see this link.] When clicking on Diagnose Connection Problems, Windows Network Diagostics comes up with "[You must be registered and logged in to see this link.] is not set up to establish a connection on port "World Wide Web service (HTTP)" with this computer. Please help!

Hello.

Remove the Proxy setting in Internet Explorer and/or in FireFox.

    In Internet Explorer
  1. Tools Menu -> Internet Options -> Connections Tab ->Lan Settings > uncheck "use a proxy server" or reconfigure the Proxy server again in case you have set it previously.

    In Firefox
  1. Tools Menu -> Options... -> Advanced Tab -> Network Tab -> "Settings" under Connection > Choose "No Proxy"
  2. Click the apply button and restart that computer in normal mode.

Try again now.

Here is the log.txt for eset online scanner. As well my system tray is popping up telling me I have some blocked programs that have been disabled. This has never happened before 'til now. It is a Sun Java Update Scheduler. Could this be because of the trojan using this? It is disabled now and states that it was disabled 30/09/2009. Can I get rid of it?
Thanks for your help.

We need to make a new restore point.

3. Click the Turn off System Restore check box (or the Turn off System Restore on all drives check box), and then click OK.
4. Click Yes when you receive the prompt to the turn off System Restore.

Now we need to make a new restore point.
To turn on System Restore, follow these steps:
1. Click Start, right-click My Computer, and then click Properties.
2. Click the System Restore tab.
3. Click the Turn off System Restore check box (To turn on System Restore), and then click OK.

Below I have included a number of recommendations for how to protect your computer in order to prevent future malware infections. Please take these recommendations seriously; these few simple steps can stave off the vast majority of spyware problems. As happy as we are to help you, for your sake we would rather not have repeat customers. Goofy

1) Please navigate to [You must be registered and logged in to see this link.] and download all the "critical updates" for Windows. This can patch many of the security holes through which attackers can gain access to your computer.

Please either enable Automatic Updates under Start -> Control Panel -> Automatic Updates , or get into the habit of checking for Windows updates regularly. I cannot stress enough how important this is.

2) In order to protect yourself against spyware, you should consider installing and running the following free programs:

A tutorial on using Ad-Aware to remove spyware from your computer may be found [You must be registered and logged in to see this link.].

A tutorial on using SpywareGuard for realtime protection against spyware and hijackers may be found [You must be registered and logged in to see this link.].

Make sure to keep these programs up-to-date and to run them regularly, as this can prevent a great deal of spyware hassle.

3) Please consider using an alternate browser. Mozilla's Firefox browser is fantastic; it is much more secure than Internet Explorer, immune to almost all known browser hijackers, and also has the best built-in popup blocker (as an added benefit!) that I have ever seen. If you are interested, Firefox may be downloaded from here:

I also recommand the following add-ons for Firefox, they will help keep you safe from malicious scripts or activeX exploits.

To help you keep your software updated, please considering using this free software program that will check for program updates.

5) Finally, consider maintaining a firewall. Some good free firewalls are [You must be registered and logged in to see this link.], or
