Windows Vista Security Tool

Post by oniguyver on 8th April 2010, 5:18 pm

I think i may have the Vista Security Tool virus and its making my computer go all screwy. How do i remove it from my computer. Any ideas would be welcome as the only thing i can think of is to reset my system and i don't really want to do that if there are any other options.

Please visit this webpage for a tutorial on downloading and running ComboFix:

See the area: Using ComboFix, and when done, post the log back here.

I tried running combofix and i keep getting a message from security tool saying: Combofix.exe is infected with worm Lsas.Blaster.Keyloger. This worm is trying to send your credit card details using Combofix.exe to connect to a remote host.

The thing is i get the same message with every program i've tried running, except firefox and internet explorer.

Please reboot to Safe Mode (tap the F8 key just before Windows starts to load and select the Safe Mode option from the menu).

Then try again.
