Malware development never stops. The "Jedi Packet Trick" installs a clandestine virtual private network inside a firewall by hacking the firmware of the victim's networking cards.

One best way to avoid attacks is to keep drivers updated, and change your networking hardware every three years.

Kaspersky's new hardware antivirus (alpha) will do just fine in detecting this attack.
