Post by trixieplus2 on 22nd March 2010, 4:39 pm

just had help with a virus so I'm sure it is not that but it seems to be running real slow again so I did the Hijack this thingy and it said: The guy in operating systems said to post this log here cause it had a peculiar entry and said to get rid of either macfee or AVG which one should I get rid of and do I have malware again?

Hello.
As far as malware goes this looks fine, but there is ALOT running at startup that doesn't need to be that is probably playing a big contributing factor to the slowness, do you want to kill some of this stuff off from startup?

Yeah, get rid of Mcafee, it's a huge resource hog.

Download [You must be registered and logged in to see this link.] by OldTimer to your Desktop.

  • Close all windows and double click OTL.exe
  • Click Run Scan and let the program run uninterrupted
  • It will produce two logs for you, one will pop up - OTL.txt, the other will be saved on your Desktop - Extras.txt. Post both logs in this thread.
  • You may need to use two posts to get it all.

Yeah but in the blog they look like little boxes instead of characters like this

□ sort of like that but a bit bigger I tried to break them up to put them in here but there are so many and it is just little boxes in the log not characters. I keep getting the message that my post is too big. They are not in the extra log though just the OTL one
