Help needed to reboot laptop

Post by uvita on Tue 09 Mar 2010, 12:30 am

Hello,

My mom has a Toshiba Satellite A205-S5825 laptop which has been giving her problems and she wanted to reboot to factory default. However, the problem is that she does not have a disk or CD that came with it. She has Windows Vista Home. How can she go about rebooting. Please help. Thanks in advance.

Goto Toshiba Utilities from your start menu and create Recovery DVDS then put first dvd in your dvd drive and reboot then everything will get deleted and reinstalled from new. Be careful to backup your important files!

one thing rebooting is RESTARTING THE COMPUTER

maybe you mean reformat or repair files or something like that

do you have the installation cd for windows xp

Hello,

Tried to make the dvds but what if the installation cd do not work....Is there any other way we can reformat the computer. I tried clicking F8 and doing complete restore but it says its already doing restore and when restarts it has done nothing. When I try restoring to a backup restore there is non shown (meaning no date shown and there fore I am just unable to reformat to factory default...Please help I would really appreciate it
