Post by zhengs on 19th February 2010, 9:53 pm

How do you change the language of the computer. For example, "Control Panel" in english instead of any other language.

Open up Computer and copy and paste this in to the address bar:

Control Panel\Clock, Language, and Region

Then see if you can access the Language options.

I tried using this setting down there, but don't work.

1. Open Regional and Language Options by clicking the Start button Picture of the Start button, clicking Control Panel, clicking Clock, Language, and Region, and then clicking Regional and Language Options.

2. Click the Keyboards and Languages tab.

3. Under Display language, choose a language from the list, and then click OK.

Ok. Let's change it in the Registry then. What language do you need to translate to? English?

First, go to Start > search Windows Update and see if any updates are available, like for language packs, etc. It will be in the Optional Updates category. "English Language Pack - Windows Vista"

If it is not listed, then it is probably installed. If it is listed, it needs installed first.

Let me know if it is installed or not, so we can continue.

Yeah I need it to be English. And what if you can't read that much of the default computer language right now for the windows update thing?

Not sure.

Did you have any update options at all, or cannot read it?

Can't read it because I don't know much of the language.

Post by Dmc2 on 7th March 2010, 6:21 pm

What keyboard do you have is Qwerty?? First six letters on the left keyboard reveal this, if the six letters are Qwertz or Azerty your keyboard is German or French and is hard to type in english even you change the language
